76 violations by the occupation against media freedoms during July

The Ministry of Information monitored 76 violations during last July against 50 journalists, 18 female journalists, five media crews and four media offices.

The Ministry of Information, by monitoring these violations, considers that as the highest level since the beginning of this year and the most severe in terms of the nature and number of attacks.

In the context of the Israeli attacks against Jerusalemite journalists, the Ministry of Information monitored 42 violations affected journalists directly and hindered their work in Jerusalem while covering the closure of Al-Aqsa Mosque by the Israeli occupation forces and the installation of electronic gates in its vicinity.

This month has witnessed the largest number of attacks by the Israeli occupation army on media crews, media offices and satellite TV stations operating in Palestine located in Area A, which is under full Palestinian sovereignty, in violation to the Oslo Agreement and to the freedom of media work in accordance with international conventions and constitutes. That is a threat and undermining of Palestinian sovereignty.
