A Palestinian medic shot dead by an Israeli army sniper

Gaza – Friday – 1-6-2018

The volunteer paramedic, Razan Ashraf al-Najjar, 21 years, was murdered by a live bullet in the chest, east of Khan Younis, fired by the Israeli occupation army snipers on the border of Gaza Strip.

The paramedic Razan Al-Najjar was wearing a medical uniform that distinguishes her as a medical team worker, but that did not save her from the fire of the occupation army snipers, which abducted her youth without any conscience sanction.

Knowing the four Geneva Conventions of 1949 and their protocols provide special rights for individuals who work in medical services to be protected and assisted. Failure to respect the status of such persons constitutes a grave violation of international humanitarian law in accordance with article 29 of the Fourth Geneva Convention of 1949.
