Two Days or Else… Settlers Threaten to Kill the Rizq Abu Naim Family in Al-Mughayyir

At 1:00 AM, Fadda Muhammad Na’san, 58, awoke to the screams of one of the foreign solidarity activists staying in the room next to her house in the Al-Khala’il area of ​​Al-Mughayyir village, east of Ramallah.

Fadda rushed out of her room to see what was happening. When she opened the door, she saw two foreign activists being dragged away. Then, a number of settlers attacked her. One of them, carrying a rock, struck her on the forehead, and she fainted.

As she began to regain her strength and tried to get up, the settlers beat her severely with sticks and knocked her to the ground. Before leaving, they gave her and her family two days to leave, threatening them:

“Today you got them out alive, but next time you won’t be so lucky.”

Fadda had anticipated a grim fate even before the next attack, especially since she was among five settlers who were part of a larger group that stormed the house. “Their numbers suggested that none of us would survive,” she said, “but thank God it was limited to stones and sticks.”

Fadda sustained a superficial cut on her forehead and bruises all over her body as a result of the attack. Her 13-year-old grandson, Rizq, suffered a head injury after being struck with a flashlight carried by one of the settlers during the assault.

Rizq recounts waking up in the middle of the night to a sound of pain and opening his eyes to a scene of blood. His grandmother lay on the floor, and a woman was screaming, clutching her bleeding arm.

Graved by the sight, Rizq stood up from the bed. A settler tried to attack him, but another woman intervened to defend him. Thinking they had left the house, he rushed out to seek help from his father. A settler then intercepted him and struck him on the head with the flashlight.

The Abu Naim family has never experienced an attack of such brutality and with such a clear and unambiguous objective, even though some of its members had previously been victims of assaults. Settlers have been carrying out almost daily attacks for the past two years, whether by loitering around the house or by vandalizing property and destroying crops.

The settlers are acting on the threats made by their leader, the extremist minister in the occupation government, Bezalel Smotrich, who said that Palestinians must leave, die, or become servants.
