B’Tselem – Because of the occupation policies, about 180 thousand residents in Nablus suffer from severe water shortage since June 2017

The residents of Nablus suffer from a permanent water crisis – especially in the summer months – intensified in recent years due to lack of rainfall. Israel prevents Palestinians from drilling new wells, and even refuses to sell them additional water to ease the crisis. Because of this policy, in the summer, residents are forced to purchase water transported in tanks and bottled water at high cost, and use water only for their essential needs. Israel has seized all the water resources between the river and the sea and it is using its control to impose a constant shortage of water on the Palestinians.
