The most important pressure on them to obtain confessions during the investigation period. 95% of detainees are tortured, since the moment of arrest, and the investigation extends even after being placed in public prisons, and the occupation authorities use a comprehensive system of violence and other methods of torture.

The Palestinian Prisoners Club said in a report on Wednesday 2-10-2019, that (73) Palestinian prisoners killed by the occupation since 1967 after being tortured.

The concept of torture is not limited to the violence used against the prisoner during arrest and interrogation, but all the torture measures that the prisoners face inside the prisons fall under the torture framework. The most prominent of these tools are solitary confinement and the detention of prisoners in harsh conditions that do not meet the minimum health conditions.

The Palestinian Prisoner Club confirmed that practicing torture is continuous, despite the prohibition of torture in all its forms in the international conventions and treaties.

As the Universal Declaration of Human Rights states that:

“No exceptional circumstances whatsoever, whether a state of war, a threat of war, internal political instability or any other public emergency, may be invoked as a justification of torture.”
