226 prisoners have been martyred in the occupation prisons since 1967

(226) Palestinian prisoners were martyred in the Israeli occupation prisons, who were martyred from 1967 until 2020, and there are hundreds of prisoners who were martyred shortly after their release, as a result of diseases and injuries they inherited during the years of their detention.

Among the captive martyrs (75) prisoners were martyred as a result of premeditated murder, (7) immediately after they were shot, and (71) as a result of the medical negligence (slow killing) policy implemented by the occupation prisons administration, through a set of abusive tools throughout the years of their detention. Most notably, the use of their right to treatment as a tool for abuse.

The physical and psychological torture operations were the most prominent of the systematic policies that led to the killing of (73) prisoners over the past decades, which have been escalated again since the end of 2019.

During the past ten years, 29 prisoners have been martyred in the occupation prisons, and the policy of medical neglect (slow killing) constituted a core reason that led to their killing.
