(226) Palestinian prisoners were martyred in the Israeli occupation prisons, who were martyred from 1967 until 2020, and there are hundreds of prisoners who were martyred shortly after their release, as a result of diseases and injuries they inherited during the years of their detention.

Among the captive martyrs (75) prisoners were martyred as a result of premeditated murder, (7) immediately after they were shot, and (71) as a result of the medical negligence (slow killing) policy implemented by the occupation prisons administration, through a set of abusive tools throughout the years of their detention. Most notably, the use of their right to treatment as a tool for abuse.
