New Crime – Occupation Deports Noura Sob Laban, Neighbor of al Al-Aqsa, From her House, in Favor of Settlers

With heavy steps, tears of oppression and pain, Mrs. Noura returned with her husband and sons to the surroundings of her stolen house in the old Jerusalem, after hours of evacuating them forcibly, in favor of settlers.

Crying and Heartburn Due to Oppression

Mrs. Noura stopped in front of her stolen house, held her breath for a long time, then cried with sense of heartburn, then she started touching the stones of the house and its external door, saying “I lost my house, but Jerusalem will remain Arabian”.

In the early morning hours of Tuesday, 11-7-2023, the Israeli forces, accompanied by settlers, stormed the house of Ghaith Sob Laban family, which is located in a residential building in the Aqbat al-Khalidiya neighborhood, which is several meters away from Al-Aqsa Mosque. The soldiers forcibly removed the family and solidarity activists from it, and prevented them from removing the contents. The door of the house was closed to its owners and became in the hands of the settlers, after the family was subjected to struggle in the courts for 47 years.

Third Nakba

Mrs. Noura said while sitting at the door of her house: “Today we are living a third Nakba. This is a criminal occupation. I entrusted of my home, its stones, the past, memories, and the soul of my mother and father to Allah. Oh Allah, we will return home soon. They took our lands, our homes, our youth and our children, a criminal government.”

She added: “The settlers have set eyes on Al-Aqsa, as they want to evacuate the houses near it firstly.”

Her son, Ahmed Sob Laban, who works as a field researcher for violations in Jerusalem, said: “Today I live the feelings that many Palestinians experienced during the Nakba and Naksa over the past years.”

The world must take action and take a moral and legal stance towards what is happening of apartheid practices towards the Palestinians in occupied Jerusalem.
