On Tuesday, 03 November 2020, Nothing remains as it is in the Palestinian village of “Hamsa Al-Fawqa”, which has been in existence for more than 40 years after “the bulldozers of the Israeli occupation removed it completely,” except for some remains of tinplate. In the largest Israeli demolition in years, 73 Palestinians, including 41 children, became homeless.<\/p>\n

\u00a0\u201cAbu Kabbash\u201d family now lives in a tent that they received as a relief from the International Committee of the Red Cross, surrounded by a number of tinplate, stones and demolished tents. While the mother embraces her daughter Hadeel (2 months), next to her, Ismail (3 years old) and Mohammed (2 years old), and asks with sorrow: “Is it reasonable for this child to remain homeless? What sin did she commit?”<\/p>\n

The grandmother, who has lived in Al-Khirbah for 40 years, seems sad, “because they robbed us of comfort and everything in favor of settlement projects.”<\/p>\n

\u201cYasser Abu Kabbash,\u201d 47 years old, is a resident of the village. His house was demolished along with the rest of the houses, but he insists on staying and standing firm. Abu Kabbash says: “The Israeli occupation is trying to push the residents to forcibly migrate. They are extracting water from our lands for the benefit of Israeli settlements and their settlement projects, and we are prevented from even getting drinking water.”<\/p>\n

It is worth noting that the area of the Jordan Valley is about 1.6 million dunums (a dunum is one thousand square meters), and about 13,000 Israeli settlers live in 38 settlements, while about 65,000 Palestinians live in 34 communities.<\/p>\n
