Israeli Government continues its settlement expansion project in the occupied Palestinian territories, while it announces a new plan for the establishment of three new settlements in the Jordan Valley.

In order to activate the plan and accelerate the approval, a special session was held Tuesday 19-12-2017 by representatives of the Ministry of Housing, the Ministry of Agriculture and the Land Fund of Israel, , in which the new settlements were officially announced, for the sake of increasing the number of settlers in the Jordan Valley area.

Today, there are 20 Israeli settlements in the Jordan Valley, home to about 4,500 settlers. The government wants to double this number three times and create three new settlements, Givat Salit, Atarot and Givat Eden, in addition to the establishment of 14 new neighborhoods in the existing settlements.
