The occupation municipality in Jerusalem approves the construction of 3,557 settlement units east of the city

On Wednesday, 5/1/2022, the occupation authorities in occupied Jerusalem approved new building plans that include the construction of 3,557 settlement units, including 1,465 new settlement units in the Givat Hamatos settlement, east of occupied Jerusalem, and 2,092 settlement units in the “French Hill”

The Israeli Peace Now movement commented on this announcement and said that such approval would thwart any chance for peace, and would even increase tension on the ground.
