621 settler attacks from the beginning of 2023 until the end of February

Confirming the multiplied extremist settler attacks, following the formation of the Israeli right-wing government, figures from a new statistical report revealed that settler gangs have committed 621 attacks against Palestinians since the beginning of 2023.

The report of U’rouba Center for Research and Strategic Thinking stated that settler gangs carried out more than 320 attacks on Palestinians in and around Nablus governorate in just one night, causing dozens of injuries, including burning homes, facilities and farms, and culminating in Huwwara town.

It pointed out that “armed groups” of settlers, under the protection of the occupation army, carried out most of these attacks.

60% of them were armed attacks and attacks carried out by armed settlers, 80% of which were carried out with the protection and escort by the occupation army forces to settler groups.

The center stated that the armed settler militias “have become more organized, brutal, and intense in their attacks on Palestinian citizens,” pointing out that their attacks recorded in less than 58 days since the beginning of this year exceeded 621 attacks, doubled for many times the number of attacks recorded last year, which totaled 1,187 in the past year. During the period from January to the end of December of the year 2022.

Regarding the geographical distribution of the attacks, the center said that Jerusalem governorate witnessed 89 attacks by settlers, Nablus governorate witnessed the largest number of attacks by armed settler groups that reached 67 attacks, the Palestinian Jordan Valley areas that include the governorates of Jericho and Tubas witnessed 40 attacks, Hebron witnessed 33 attacks, Ramallah witnessed 24 attacks, Salfit witnessed 22 attacks, Bethlehem witnessed 21 attacks, Qalqilya witnessed 11 attacks, Jenin witnessed four attacks, and Tulkarem witnessed one attack.
