French newspaper Le Monde: Children in the West Bank are in the crosshairs of the Israeli army

The newspaper begins its report by stating that, according to the United Nations, Israeli forces have killed 44 minors in the Palestinian territories since January. None of the perpetrators have been prosecuted or punished.

In most cases, the army doesn’t even bother to open an investigation.

The report details tragic cases of escalating violence in the West Bank, where Palestinian children have become direct targets.

Among these cases, the newspaper mentions Mohammed Hallaq, a nine-year-old boy from south of Hebron, who dreamed of becoming a cardiologist. He was shot by an Israeli soldier while watching military vehicles pass through his village, and the soldier appeared to be celebrating the shooting.

The newspaper adds that ten-year-old Saddam Rajab from Tulkarm was shot by an Israeli sniper while using his phone to call his mother. His father spoke of the humiliation he endured at the hands of the army during attempts to get him medical attention and a perfunctory investigation that yielded no results.

In another incident, 14-year-old Ahmed Jazar from a village near Nablus was killed by a sniper shot from hundreds of meters away during a military operation last January, leaving his father in deep psychological shock.
