Russian Ambassador to Palestine Falls Victim to Settler Terrorism

Salfit, February 9, 2026 – Members of terrorist settler gangs intercepted a delegation that included the Governor of Salfit and the Representative of the Russian Federation to the State of Palestine, Ambassador Buachidze Gocha, during a field visit to Wadi al-Matwi in Salfit. The visit, organized by the Salfit Governorate for the Russian Representative Office delegation, aimed to assess the extent of settler attacks and monitor the situation of affected farmers in the area threatened by settlement expansion. The settlers intercepted the Ambassador’s vehicle and a vehicle belonging to the Salfit Governorate, verbally threatened the delegation, and prevented them from completing their tour.

These attacks constitute terrorism perpetrated by settlers supported by the Israeli occupation government.

For his part, Ambassador Gocha expressed his deep concern regarding the incident, emphasizing the need to respect international law and protect official delegations and citizens from any attacks.
