A Pennsylvania State University poll, published last Thursday in Haaretz, surveyed respondents across Israel.
The poll revealed that 82% of Israelis support the “forced expulsion” of Palestinians from the Gaza Strip.
While 56% supported the forced expulsion of Arab citizens of Israel.
In a similar poll conducted in 2003, 45% supported the “forced expulsion” of Palestinians from the Gaza Strip, and 31% supported the forced expulsion of Arab citizens of Israel.
In response to a question about whether the Israeli army should “act as the Israelites did in Jericho under Joshua—killing all the inhabitants of the occupied city”—47% of respondents supported this.
The report indicated that more than 65% of respondents “believe in a modern-day incarnation of the Amalekites, the biblical enemy of the Jews.” Among these, 93% believe that the biblical command to “wipe out the Amalekites” is still in effect today.
