Minister Gilad Erdan: The sovereignty over al-Aqsa is Israeli

Israel’s internal security minister, Gilad Erdan, said that sovereignty over Al-Aqsa Mosque is for Israel and the attitudes of the other countries are not important, that was in response to criticism of Israel’s closure of Al-Aqsa Mosque.

Erdan’s statement came in an interview with Israeli army radio, Gali Tashel, Saturday, July 15, 2017, in which he confirmed that electronic gates would be placed on all entrances leading to Al-Aqsa Mosque.

He reiterated Israel’s full sovereignty over Al-Aqsa Mosque in response to criticism by Jordan’s King Abdullah II, pointing out that Israel should take its decisions that are necessary regardless to the position of Jordan and other countries and waiting for their approval. As for these decisions have been necessary and justified, we must implement them.”
