19 years old boy, whose rosy dreams were ended by a terrorist settler’s bullet

On Friday 4-8-2023, which is supposed to be a day off when people go out to rest and enjoy a weekend, the Palestinian village of Barqa, east of Ramallah, was on a date with a different weekend; Where the terrorist settler gangs stormed areas in the western and northwestern sides of the village, under the protection of the occupation army, then the villagers rushed to defend their land and protect it from burning and looting at the hands of settler gangs.

Terrorist settler gangs opened fire at unarmed Palestinians indiscriminately.

Qusai Maatan, 19 years old, had great dreams and hopes for a beautiful future. He did not expect that a bullet from a terrorist settler’s gun would put an end to his dreams and leave his mother and family in an unbearable heartbreak.

The settler who shot and killed Qusai returned to his settlement, which he raped from the Palestinians, under the guard of the occupation army. He was not arrested, was not tried,  the Israeli authorities did not blow up his house, he slept while preparing for another crime that he would soon commit against another Palestinian.

We wonder here: What if the picture is reversed and a Palestinian kills a settler?

The answer is clear: the Palestinian will be killed by the Israeli army, his family home will be demolished, his family members will be arrested, and the town where he lives will be closed with iron gates and dirt mounds as a collective punishment for the Palestinians.

This is, in fact, a disgrace that will haunt the international community, in which some still see the occupying state as a model of democracy, and consider the Palestinian who defends his occupied land as a terrorist.
